Recommended

There is a saying that I hear a lot when talking to people, and that is word of mouth is the best form of advertising.

It's always nice to hear from a client who wants to book you to photograph their family's portrait or to photograph their wedding day, that they came to you because they heard great things about you and the work that you've done. It not only gives me a sense of pride, but more importantly, it shows to me that I'm meeting (and sometimes exceeding) the expectations of my clients.

It makes me feel even prouder to be place in the recommended lists of other businesses that I've collaborated with, or have done commissioned work for. Bishop's Court Boutique Hotel, Sterling PR & Events, and Citigate Mt. Panorama are just a few that have placed me on their recommended list as a photographer.

It's great that so many people appreciate the work that I do enough to sing my praises in this way, and I really appreciate the fact that they have done this.

Bathurst Portrait Prize

I've recently completed my entry for the up coming Bathurst Portrait Prize, which will be exhibited on the 27th August at the Bathurst Regional Gallery.

As I don't want to ruin the surprise of who I've photographed for the portrait prize, I'm not going to reveal the name of the person that I chose to photograph. Let's just say that they are a well known identity here in Bathurst.

I gave a lot of thought about how I might photograph my portrait subject over several weeks, and eventually come up with a simple idea. With this idea in mind, and great co-operation from my portrait subject, I was able to capture exactly what I had hoped for from my portrait subject, and had the portrait session finished within 10 minutes.

It was fun to photograph a portrait just for the fun of it. To push my creativity, and just to have a bit of fun while supporting a local community event at the Bathurst Art Gallery. It should be a great exhibition.
